Keep Holding On

Currently listening to Boyce Avenue's Keep Holding On. Favorite song at the moment aside from Be OK by Ingrid Michaelson...

You're not alone
Together we stand
I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There's no place to go
You know I won't give in
No I won't give in

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it's too late, this could all disappear
Before the doors close
And it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend
I'll fight and defend
Yeah, yeah

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe
Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny
Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

La da da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through
Just stay strong
'Cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you
There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Keep holding on
Keep holding on

There's nothing you could say
Nothing you could do
There's no other way when it comes to the truth
So keep holding on
'Cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through

Ate at Fridays first so we can use the temporary discount card we recently availed. Ordered caesar's salad and the Jack Daniel's pork chop(?) Didnt order dessert na cuz am sooo full.

Since its still early, decided to play bowling. Told Mikoy that I don't play bowling, well tried once when M was here 2 years ago. Uhmm I think I played well :) Didnt want to play bowling before since I am playing volleyball, billiards and darts before - masisira ang pulso kumbaga :)

Whew! Was tired and my arms ache after that but had fun! Promised Mikoy that we'll go to DQ for dessert...

I realized now that...even battery life is short. Tsk tsk tsk...

Forgive me for being lunatic. Fact is - I am.

Yiiii our concert pushed thru! ngek

Our concert pushed thru last week.  We went to Music 21 in Malate last Friday, as part of our pre-Valentine date.  Was excited coz we have been planning this since last year - with a friend.

We are not embarassed at all, once we got hold of the mic, we did not let go. Good thing, it was only the two of us, kaya kahet sintunado ay keri lang at todo ang birit.

We sang old tunes (that's where i can only relate), Sam has a good voice, the more reason that i became flabbergasted and mesmerized yihii. Told her I love it when she sings to me hehehe.

Songs at Music 21 is limited, not updated as well. But the service of the staff, the quality of the equipments and the sound system are A-ok. Price is reasonable (P75/hour pax). They also gave us coupons for free drinks on our next visit.

Tip: When it was near our 3rd hour (like 15mins with 3 more songs on queue), I asked for the bill.  Ngek, connection was cut and songs on queue were lost! They didn't allow us to finish the songs hahaha! In IO KTV they will let you finish all your songs that you entered on their system. para sulit tapusin muna ang songs bago mag bill out.

Dinner at Chef's Quarter

Mik: where do you wanna eat?

Me: I can decide? Anywhere?

Mik: Yeah.

Me: I want steak. Ummm.. Chef's?

Mik: Ok. Already made reservations. =)

Me: how did you know Id like to eat in there?

Mik: I just know *wink*  (mikoy: see babe may plan din naman ako, secret nga lang hehehe)

Ambience is good for me, for us except for the cups/mugs infront of the ladies room. I don't know, probably they don't have enough space? Service is ok. Food is great.

I ordered Chef's Quarter Steak (the 6oz steak) and Prawn and Steak for Mikoy. We had Tessie Tomas Salad. Loved this one. But we both ended up having upset stomachs haha.

After eating, I asked Mikoy if we can go to M21Plaza KTV.  Just for fun.  We both had fun! Was home by 12mn (Cinderella still)

Rare times that you will see us together. I mean us posting our pics in here.

classmate at SB intramuros

Before entering SB, told Mikoy:

me:  'babe they're here.'

mik: who?

me: the couple

mik: how did u know?

me: their cars

tsk tsk.

We always see this 'couple' (not sure if they are a couple since they always arrive and leave on separate cars)  at SB intramuros.  We're always guessing what level they are in their relationship (nosey? hahaha!).   They are too sweet to just be friends. If they are lovers, then they don't look like one.  The guy seemed to be torpe, a dork, sheepish. The gurl looks more like the one who is more 'in love' .  The way she stares at the guy (there's always twinkle in her eyes) etc etc.

That's why I love going to SB Intra. Quiet. Not so many people hangin around so you'll have time to talk. Intrigues. hahaha! The one thing I don't like in here is that they don't have enough pastries to choose from. Unlike in SB HC.

Automated Parking Tickets

It's another human job being taken over by machines (waaa additional unemployed peeps!).

[caption id="attachment_994" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="two large fries, one cheeseburger without cheese... ay mali!"]two large fries, one cheeseburger without cheese... ay mali![/caption]

I first encountered this at Gateway Mall, but now almost every big mall (except SM) has this. Usually the machine dispenses the parking ticket (need to push a button). But upon exiting, the ticket is presented to a 'live' person who will receive the payment. In Shangrila Hotel though, you need to 'feed' (surrender) the paper ticket to the machine.

[caption id="attachment_995" align="aligncenter" width="225" caption="push button to eject driver..."]push button to eject driver...[/caption]

The NLEX also uses this system, but I think they designed the machine for big people. Everytime, I need to remove my seatbelt and almost have get my whole body out of the window just to be able to reach the ticket (I'm vertically challenged hehe). So maybe they need to change the position, or I don't know hehe.

Pre Vday

I thought Mikoy won't send flowers for me today...hehehe. Love the flowers babe. As always. Thank you!

SG was the first one to greet me with the chocolate. She was smiling when she saw me this morning...because of my dress. She even asked our VP to see me. 'So cute!' Hope that everyday, you'll dress up like that.' Hahaha. Naughty.

We, the girls here in the office were teasing the boys since this morning for flowers. Last year they gave us roses too, but this time, with matching Choc Nut. It may sound cheap for the others but we do appreciate what they've done. They personally gave us these =)

Inihaus is a new resto in Mikoy's place.  They serve grilled food of course, and  other filipino foods. Eaten in here once when I visited Mik. Uhmm food is ok. Grilled liempo (or grilled pork belly) is good.. a lil bit sweet.

[caption id="attachment_944" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="sisig with live egg hehe"]sisig with live egg hehe[/caption]

This is popularly known today as actually sizzling sisig, a Philippine dish made from parts of pig’s head, liver and usually seasoned with kalamansi and chili peppers. The dish is served almost in every Filipino restaurant. Yum!!!
lumpiang shanghai
lumpiang shanghai
This lumpia prito literally means fried spring roll. It consists of a briskly fried pancake filled with bean sprouts and various other vegetables such as string beans and carrots. Small morsels of meat or seafood may also be added. Though it is the least expensive of the variants, the preparation – the cutting of vegetables and meats into appropriately small pieces and subsequent pre-cooking – may prove taxing and labor-intensive. This variant may come in sizes as little as that of lumpiang shanghai or as big as that of lumpiang sariwa. It is usually eaten with vinegar and chili peppers, or a soy sauce-and-calamondin juice mixture known as toyo-mansi.

KFC with corn

Ate at KFC last Monday, the usual I ordered chix. Mikoy tried the Cheezy Bbq Melt. Ala carte is - P85; meal -P100.

[caption id="attachment_1006" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="inside"]inside[/caption]

verdict:  two thumbs down.  it should be called TOMATO Cheese melt. It has more tomatoes than the chicken bits (and when I say bits, do take it literally!) We still love Taco Bell. Yohoo!

For dessert? Corn. Yes, corn. Hahaha! It is because Mikoy brought corn for me (although I want it hot, with butter and salt, which is the opposite of what dodie wants) So in order for Mikoy not to feel bad, I ate the corn (but only half of it)

Marriage with Contract

When Mikoy and I were having dinner 2 nights ago, we discussed something about contracts (didnt remember now how it started - blame it on memory gap. oh btw, didnt you know that gold fishes have memory gap too? haha am really a FISH - being born under the sign of the fish)

Anyhoo, Mikoy said that contracts well most contracts have limits, have boundaries, and it is renewable. If that is the case, how come it doesn't apply to marriage contracts? Uhmm makes sense though I know other people will raise eyebrows on this. We both believe that marriage (or is it only me? hahaha peace babe) is a sacred thing. Mik just shared (or hopes) that it is renewable just like driver's license because if two people who got married but tides turned, decided to go on separate ways, they will just wait for their contracts to expire and not renew it. Besides filing for an annulment and divorce is gonna cost you. Hahaha!

Hey, hey, don't get us wrong. I don't want this too. It was just a part of our usual spontaneous talks...

know your 'hon'

I have received two text messages from different numbers with this message: hon dito ka mag reply load mo ko 300 pesos.

First of all, I don't call Sam 'hon', that's reserved for my mistress hehe.  Second, both Sam and mistress are on postpaid plans hehe.   And usually, I just give 10 pesos pasa load hahaha.

So just beware of this manloloko.  S/he uses an account and has these numbers 0915 5272922   0927 8531195.

Malunggay ice cream

I read about this at the Inquirer.

When we went to Ilocos last year, almost every house has a malunggay tree.  It's no surprise that they will have malunggay-flavored ice cream.   Wonder what this taste like?  Lasang chlorophyll din kaya haha?

Niwey, they also have chili flavor.   Wow, can you imagine the spicy flavor exploding in your mouth while it is numbed by the coldness of the ice cream??!! wahehe I want this!  Sana magnolia or the other commercial ice cream maker would also have these flavors! yum!

Yesterday, i drove mom to the Emergency of Manila Doctors because of some allergies on her neck and arms. I was surprised because she initiated it - coming to the hospital. Believe me, she hates going to the hospital especially if she'll be injected or will have an IV inserted on her hand. She said of all the things she hates is allergy 'cause its dangerous - baka daw bumalot sa puso. Uncle and one cousin came with me. I cancelled the date on the last minute because I was observing mom's condition so I texted Mikoy if we could just re-sked the date.

Last Friday when we were eating at Dampa,  I was quiet (thinking) of Mikoy's trip to HK. Really its ok for Mik to go but then again, the travel agent said that travel period should be until Feb 17 only. Its V-day this weekend, right? Arg!!!! I don't want to deprive Mik of that trip....but wanted us to be together this weekend not necessarily during that day (eeeewwww - i don't date on the 14th!) Anyways, I suggested that Mik can go on Sunday and we'll just celebrate this Friday. Nagtalo na naman kami (sort of) because of this kasi hindi na nga daw. Sa March na lang daw. Eh birthday and anniv month naman namin yun.. Hay naku mas lalo na akong nawalan ng gana kagabi.

I was sooo bored and tired yesterday. Woke up early, I re-packed almost the whole day and then I drove mom to the hosp...PMS.

Had my hair done last weekend too, cel

We went to Macapagal Dampa (Dad's and Mom's) last Friday 'coz Binge Day namin yun hahaha.   I told Sam (who will do the marketing) to just buy 1 kilo crab and half kilo of hipon.   Ayon bumili ng 1 kilong hipon kaya ang dami naming ulam.

[caption id="attachment_939" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="sweet and spicy crabs! Ayaw pala ni Sammie to... ayaw tigilan!"]sweet and spicy crabs! Si Sammie umubos![/caption]

We had sinigang na hipon, sweet and spicy crab (si Sam ang umubos pramis!), and tempura.  Hayyy, galit galit muna kasi ndi ako kinakausap ni Sam!  Puro yung alimango ang inaatupag ehhehe [sammie: it's my favorite!]

BFast at McDo

Yesternight, my mom, tita and I slept at brother's place.   Bro comes home every weekend and so the place is empty.  I haven't decided if I will sleep over, so I didn't bring any clothes with me.  Ni toothbrush wala! hehehe.  Niweys I decided to stay 'coz I didn't want to drive thru edsa's traffic and I want to have breakfast at McDonuts.

I was the one who ordered and I forgot to use my mom's Senior Citizen Card for the 20% disc.  Syempre after paying and all, she gave me her card and asked if she can use it.  Nahihiya na ako coz I got my free large fries na thru my McDo card, so my tita was the one who went to the counter and asked.  Well siguro tinatamad na yung mga staff 'coz the manager just said she'll give us another large fries instead of re-punching  the items.  Ngek.  Ok at least they honor the SCD card hehe

Plus Plus!!! Roving crew with coffee for free refills (till 1030am).  At least the customer doesn't have to go to the counter.  Also, condiments corner with water and disposable glass (so you don't need to buy the expensive VIVA mineral water! hehe)

Since my brother's here, we went to Pampanga last Sunday. He wanted to drive, and he did on the way there. But on the way back, I did the driving. I felt so tired after 'coz it was so hot in the afternoon, and I have forgotten na how to drive Rav. So much for the good times, dami rin naming pinagsamahan nyan hehhe.

Niwey, my parents usually go there on weekends to re-charge. As they are already old, they want to reminisce their childhood life. I do enjoy the life there, very laidback, but maybe for a day or two lang. There's electricity naman and tv, but the nearest neighbor is a 5-minute walk. It's nice to just bum around or pick some fruits in season -- now it's calamansi, papaya and guava.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Went out with my HS friends last Friday. I was starting to be pissed because its quite late already. We were supposed to meet at J's place bet 730-800 but when i texted J around 720 she's still on the road with her husband. grrr!! She called around 730, she said sorry and we'll be picking up the 2 girls at the gasoline station near our place. When she called told her don't want to eat at Burgoo...

..but ended up at Burgoo Tomas Morato hahahaha.

J: sorry sorry, forgot you didn't like it here.

Me: hmft! do i have a choice? hahaha. no its ok. do the honors of ordering.

L, who was so talkative that night (well as always) was talking about her problem with her hubby (had an affair with an officemate when she was still pregnant early last year) but actually she's not considering it a problem. Knowing L, she doesn't even mind having an argument with her in-laws. Sobrang tapang!

Anyways, after that headed to Jack's Loft just across the street to have dessert and for L and J to smoke. Uhmm didn't notice that area last time, probably just new. Found out that Aresi is still there. Not sure now if it still owned by the daughter of Gloria Romero, Maritess. Previously, Aresi is located infront of ABS-CBN.

That night, I was grilled! Bombarded with so many questions! But as they say, all's well that end's well. :)

We're planning to go out again on my birthday.

The fast and the Glorious =)

We went to Makati to visit a client of Mikoy then off we went to Bonifacio Global City last Tuesday to drop by the condo. Stayed there for awhile. Wanted to play Playstation 3 but didn't know how to hahaha. Too bad as I wanted to try the Grand Theft Auto.

After that, ate at Reyes BBQ which is located near the gasoline station near the condo. They own this. No, just kidding :)

The place is nice though quite small. Good service. Attentive staff. Food is ok but i like the liempo more than the bbq. I don't know probably it has plenty of pepper (not fond of peppers) We ate outside since the air that night is quite cold. While waiting for our food, the usual - people watching and picture-taking. Mikoy and I saw an old lady came in with a lady in pink in tow - their housemaid.

Mikoy: Is it necessary for them to wear such clothes (a uniform) for people to know they're on the lower class of society?

Me: No. It's the disgretion of the people hiring them. Most people on the high society level do that (no offense for those who practice that) We never do that with our maids when we were younger. Pareho kami ng kinakain and we sometimes have them join us if there is a space in the dining table. We don't consider them housemaids. We treat them as housemates.

Mikoy: I find it degrading.

Me: Yeah agree. Oh well..

They do not charge delivery fees btw.

by mikoy:  I liked the idea of 10% discount on take out items.  They're the first resto here in the Phils that I have encountered with that kind of policy.   That practice though is widely used in Europe, to discourage dine-ins (thereby decreasing labor cost/rent/ etc).   Maybe more resto here should do that.

Visit to Divi

where is mommy? =) the corner tree she wanted was on the right side of the pic

other artificial trees and flowers for sale

Went with mom to Divi to buy her corner tree (again yes...) at Anding's. It is one of the largest in that area. You can buy so many things in there, believe me!

Picture taken on top, mommy buying a corner tree. She kept on asking for a P200 peso discount because its quite expensive though its really worth it. It costs P1,800. Probably, the guy gave in and gave the corner tree at P1,700. Uhm not bad.

I have a new 'sideline' in the office. I am moonlighting as a saleslady - a peanut agent. hahahaha! Just to kill time di ba? Bought adobo and hot/chili peanuts, mixed nuts, sweet/chili dilis. Requests from my officemates. Had a hard time sealing the plastic but twas ok. Im going to earn money from this anyway. No pain, no gain, right?

This is just temporary, am not going to do this often especially if ill be busy in the office.

Mikoy and I had dinner at Abe Restaurant in Trinoma last week. My first. Nagpakapagod muna sa TimeZone para madaming makain hehe. We loved playing in TimeZone especially the Basketball na lagi lang daw akong pinagbibigyan ng isang bata diyan... hmft if i know kaya ayaw tumigil maglaro nung time na iyon kasi feeling niya sobrang galing na niya at matatalo na niya ko....oh well! Sulit yung game na nilalaro namin dun kasi haba ng oras...yung tipong mananakit na ang kelly mo bago ka matapos (that is kung magaling at nae-extend ang time mo) Sayang hindi nga lang nakuhanan ng picture while we are playing. Sobrang pawis na pawis kami grabe!

Anyways, here's what we had at Abe. Uhmm my verdict? Masarap naman. Ok ang lasa, ok ang place. Mikoy likes the kare-kare, ok lang for me but ayoko kasi ng malapot ang sauce. Yung isang bata, pigil na pigil sa pagkain ng rice...hahaha! Unlimited kasi.

Going for Fedex this time

[caption id="attachment_887" align="alignnone" width="253" caption="yeahhhhhhh!"]yeahhhhhhh![/caption]

I am not a fan of Roger Federer. I don't like him eversince he beat Andre Agassi on his last US Open appearance. I always go for the guy on the other side of the court.

I'm more of a Nadal fan, but I pity Federer. Slowly slipping unless he proves himself this year.

Anyways, I want Federer to win the Australian Open and get his 14th Grand Slam (to tie with the other great-- Sampras). He deserves it, great player.
